採用の結果を知らせる
採用面接を行った企業の担当者が、面接をした人に採用の結果を電話で伝える際のやりとりです。
- Kaneda:
- Hello?
- Sanders:
- Hello, is this the number of Ms. Yukari Kaneda?
- Kaneda:
- Yes, it is.
- Sanders:
- This is Ian Sanders from WBC Company. Thank you for coming to the interview the other day. I'm calling today to tell you the outcome of the interview.
- Kaneda:
- I see.
- Sanders:
- Following the interview, we decided that we would like to offer you one of the three positions available to mid-career employees at our company at this time.
I'd like to send you an employment contract along with a letter of appointment. - Kaneda:
- Thank you. I would be happy to accept your offer.
Could you send those to the address on my resume? - Sanders:
- All right. I'll also enclose an orientation notice. Please sign the letter of appointment and send it back.
- Kaneda:
- Certainly. I'll send it back as soon as I receive it. Thank you for your call.
- Sanders:
- Thank you for accepting our offer.

- Thank you for coming to the interview the other day. I’m calling today to tell you the outcome of the interview.
- 面接の結果を伝えるときは、1文目のように、まず面接に来てくれたお礼を言います。ここでは「先日は面接にいらしていただき、ありがとうございました」と言っています。続いてI’m calling today to ～の形を使い、「面接結果をお伝えするためにお電話を差し上げております」と言います。
- Following the interview, we decided that we would like to offer you one of the three positions available to mid-career employees at our company at this time.
- 「面接の結果、今回の当社中途採用者3名のうちのお一人として、あなたを採用することとなりました」という意味です。合格したことを伝えるときは、we would like to offer you ～「～として採用させていただきます」という表現を使います。mid-career employeeは「中途採用者」という意味です。
不採用通知の場合はWe have decided to offer the position to another applicant.「別の方を採用させていただくことになりました」のように言います。一次面接通過の連絡はWe would like you to come to the second〔final〕 interview.「二次〔最終〕面接に来ていただきたいのですが」などと言います。 - I would be happy to accept your offer.
- これは採用通知を受ける側の表現で、「喜んでお受けいたします」という意味。ほかにThank you very much. I accept.「どうもありがとうございます。お受けいたします」や、It would be an honor to work for your company.「御社で働けることになり、光栄です」などと言います。
採用を断る場合はUnfortunately, I will not be accepting the position because ～「残念ながら～のため、お受けすることができません」と言います。ほかにもI regret that I cannot fill the position due to ～「大変残念ですが～の理由で、その職に就くことができません」やI’m afraid I must decline your offer because ～「残念ですが～の理由で辞退しなければなりません」などと言ってもよいでしょう。 - Please sign the letter of appointment and send it back.
- これは「採用通知書に署名後、返送してください」という意味です。letter of appointmentは「採用通知書類」という意味。採用された人はこの書類に署名して返送するのが一般的です。
- Thank you for accepting our offer.
- 最後に、採用のオファーを受けてくれたことにお礼を言って電話を切ります。
不採用の場合は、応募者に対してWe wish you every personal and professional success in your job search.「あなたの就職活動がうまくいくことをお祈り申し上げます」やThank you for your interest in our company.「弊社に関心を持っていただいてありがとうございました」などの表現で締めくくります。
